【School introduction】 “Learn and play” using the outside play equipment

Play equipment plays a big role in schools, as it is a place where you can learn while playing. Yumenomori has a lot of very interesting play equipment. The most attractive being this mysterious climbing net.

It looks like a net used for fishing!

This play equipment, that looks like a fishing net, is known as the "Yurayura net" (swaying net). Many white ropes were woven together to form one giant net. There are entrances and exits on both the first and second floors, allowing children to move around through the play equipment without using the stairs.
The second floor is covered with the net, making it look like a large trampoline. If you climb it with several people, the vibrations from everyone will be added together, and the children's voices will become louder.

The children who, at first, seemed scared when the played on it the first time, learned by watching others. "It's okay to take it slow", "Hold on to the rope firmly." They eventually got used to it, and now play on it freely with smiles on their faces.

Jungle gyms, horizontal bars, and swings were also installed, these are essential play equipment in parks and schoolyards. We worked hard, and practiced flipping backwards up onto the horizontal bar! The designers felt very happy when they saw the children come back with smiles on their faces.

There is another kind of play equipment that connects the first and second floors. That's the bouldering area.
The holds were placed in perfect positions to make it easy for children to climb, and even children trying it out for the first time climbed easily. For now, just climbing it is fun, but as you gradually get used to it, new challenges may arise, such as "I want to climb faster!'' or "I want to try more difficult bouldering!'' As mentioned in the Kodomoen's note the other day, the exercise that humans do in childhood has a big impact on their lifelong health. We will always reaffirm the importance of creating ways for children to have fun while moving their bodies.

Reading + iPad = ?

Yumenomori currently owns approximately 20,000 books. The variety of books that can be read has increased significantly.
The first grade students read books and took pictures of the new knowledge they learned using their iPads. They did this because they want to compile them into a quiz using an app and then ask their friends to try it. It's amazing how the way they can enjoy books can continue to expand with the use of iPads and other devices.

What kind of bookshelf are they making behind them?

Yumenomori can store 50,000 books if all the shelves are combined. There are still many empty shelves. To prevent Yumenomori-kun from feeling lonely, the Yumenomori staff is currently creating our school's tradition "My Best Bookshelf." We create a shelf with books we like, books we recommend, and books we want to read. Some children have included picture books they have already read, or their younger sisters' favorite picture books.
Sharing reading experiences among children, such as "Bibliobattle", may encourage more active reading activities than teacher-led reading instructions. We would like to take advantage of Yumenomori's blessed reading environment to allow children to experience the fun of books.
