Exactly one week has passed since the second semester started at the new Manabiya Yumenomori...

I can feel the "power" of the building with a purpose...

A person who came to see this place previously said, "There is no defined shape"...
I completely agree...
I'm inside a building, so there should definitely be edges and ends...but
I don't feel like there is an exact shape...

Inside and outside, the length and breadth of the two-story school building is rather circular...
How should I describe it? There's no answer to the relationship between the egg and the chicken, which came first, right?

In other words, this is a play field with endless possibilities for play and learning!
It's not a play circle with limitations...

Currently, we are focusing on the Kodomoen area...We are gradually expanding the field according to the children's developmental stages, in order to eventually turn it into a learning facility that the children can master on their own!

How is the view from up there?
Because the roof continues upward, we should also continue outward!
Basking in the sun at tea time!
They put coloured water into umbrella bags, which matched the mobiles hanging in the classroom. They look very cool, and wonderful!
They aren't just for one person, but for everyone! This is the best kind of playground equipment!
This is "Kuma no Pokke", a big space where you can expand the world of stories.

Today, we received the following email from Mr. Fumitaka Watanabe of Archiship Studio, who designed this school building…

It's the first week of the new school term, and I'm very moved by the wonderful daily activities at both the Kodomoen and the rest of Yumenomori.
Not only the children, but all the designers really shined!
It's not every day that something is enjoyed and used with such care and with such a spirit of challenge.
I was so grateful to send you this email.

The "power'' of the Manabiya Yumenomori designers are already being felt by other people, they are not overwhelmed by the "power'' of a purposeful building, but rather use that power to connect it to play and learning.

Of course, we're still trying to figure out how to use it properly…

But we're sure we'll come up with a way to use it and a sense of skill that even Mr. Watanabe couldn't imagine...
If we use the children's imagination and the creativity that is nurtured here, we're sure...

It's another thing to look forward to...
