【Daily Record】 The early bird gets the worm
A morning meeting is held every morning in the library, the centre of the new Yumenomori school building. Everyone meets in the library to check everyone's attendance and how they are doing today. All students gather there, not by grade level, so it's a lively time until the morning meeting begins. It's better than spending time lazing around, but it's a waste if it's just chatting. We started by trying to make effective use of our morning time by doing something fun before the first hour. We chose songs that everyone wanted to sing, sang them, practiced the "Yosakoi" dance, etc. In other words, it is Yumenomori's version of morning activities. It's not uncommon to be drenched in sweat before the morning meeting begins.
As usual, "Yosakoi" music will be playing today. When the music starts, the children gather one by one. "Yosakoi" dancing is by no means a rule. When the music plays, everyone seems to be naturally drawn to it. When two or three people gather, the dance begins. Although they are still not very good at it, they seem to be enjoying the morning dance at their own pace. Even this author, who suffers from lower back pain, was drawn to their behavior and couldn't help but join in the dancing. After dancing two songs, they're already sweating.
When the song ended with shouts, the dancing circle dispersed and the children went to their own places.
Today, after the "Yosakoi" dance, some voices were heard reading aloud.
We thought it was a morning reading activity, but it looks like they are saying some lines to each other. Apparently they are practicing for the "Manabiya Yumenomori Opening Ceremony'' scheduled for September 21st. At Manabiya Yumenomori, the students are planning to lead the ceremony themselves.
Now, we're looking forward to seeing what it turns out to be.
What today's Yumenomori Hero is doing is visiting the Kodomoen. Although he usually spends most of his time surrounded by adults, he is a great older brother at the Kodomoen. Sometimes he's still a "spoilt child", but here he takes on an older appearance with his heartless demeanor. "You're so reliable."
I couldn't help but sigh with the designers around me. We also discovered the face of a new hero. What kind of side will he show next week? We're looking forward to it.
The hot days are still continuing. Meanwhile, the activities of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students are quite refreshing. Haha, now you're wondering if everyone is making juice, right?
If you think so, please pick up a cup near you and take a sip.
Not tasty? That's right. This is paint dissolved in water, not juice or tea.
Some people may frown and say, "Well, that's a waste.''
Please calm down and listen to me a little more.
I can't remember if some great teacher said something like, "If you freeze music, it becomes architecture,'' or "If you release the stillness of a sculpture, it becomes music.'' Without further ado, please take a look at the photo of coloured water cups lined up. As you look at the photos, don't you feel like you hear some kind of sound? No?
By arranging a variety of cool coloured water, the children try to enjoy the silent rhythm of the colours. Colours have a temperature, as there are terms such as warm colors and cool colors. Similarly, there are experimental results that show that colours have tastes. Isn't it any wonder then that colours have rhythms and sounds?
The logic is a little questionable, but that's okay. It's okay if you don't understand.
Sometimes it is more important to "feel" something than to "understand". They learned about such fragments of life through "Iromizu'' (Coloured water).
On September 21st, the "Manabiya Yumenomori Opening Ceremony'' will be held. The commercial was created mainly by third-grade students. The director, cast, content editing, and photography were all done by the children. Please take a look.
