【Kodomoen】 Hop step jump!
Some children will start their summer vacation tomorrow, so it will some time before they come back to take care of the children at the Kodomoen.
Then as a way to make summer memories, we did some "Suikawari" (Watermelon smashing).

Why has the teacher handed me a stick?
Why do I have to walk to the watermelon?
Then suddenly everyone said "Do it!!"?
What? Why should I hit the watermelon?
Why did the teachers cheer after I hit the watermelon? Hey! The watermelon broke! What did you do!
My older brothers and sisters, they are covering their eyes. And they have different sticks than mine.
"Forward, Forward, Forward! A little back!"
"Ready! Smash!"
That's a weird thing to shout again…
But, the watermelon is cracking!
Aah, the last brother broke the watermelon!
What? What? "Shenshe" (Sensei (Teacher)) are coming and cutting it!
Will we eat it? Can we eat it??
Yay!!
What is this called? Su-i-ka-wa-ri, I remembered the word…
I don't know if this is what the children were thinking, but thats how I imagined. Anyway that's what happened, they experienced it for the first time.
A daily event in Kodomoen…
Someday it will become an event which they remember clearly…
With the "compound eyes" that the dragonflies taught me about, and the skills of seeing childrens "character" and "playfulness", with those three things, we are enjoying nursing daily!
Today is the last day of the semester, so we had a closing ceremony.
It's been 4 months since the school opened. What growth have you seen in you children? They have shown a lot of growth to us teachers, smaller or bigger, and at their own pace. They're gong forward, sometimes back, but still progressing strongly. Please give a lot of praise to your children.

The next time we are here together is on August 25th is when the next semester starts. "Manabiya Yumenomori" is close to completion! Close to completion? Not completed yet?
The new school "Manabiya Yumenomori" has been completed, and we are now adding furniture and other items every day, but it's still missing something.
Yes! When the children come to the school, then it will be complete!
The ones who put life into "Manabiya Yumenomori" is the children! All the designers are making a safe educational environment with the children in mind.
