【Report for June 7th】 Searching for butterflies

Yesterday, the 6th, 1st and 2nd grade students went around local houses and handed out business cards. The business cards have a childs name, and a similar portrait drawn on for each child.

They also distributed strips of paper and leaflets. At the end of this month, they are planning to invite local people to a new sports event. They were a little nervous about visiting these people's homes, but after the visit, they seemed to be filled with a pleasant sense of fatigue.

Thank you very much to everyone in the area who gave them a greeting.

In the 5th grade Japanese class, we are learning about "listening", "listen, listen, listen". After several hours of preparations for their interview, today is finally the day. However, there were voices saying that it might not be possible to calmly interview at the entrance of the office. Since there was no room available, we decided to conduct the interview at the top of the mountain behind the office.

The interview was conducted while standing because the sitting on the fallen pine branches would sting. The combination of the shade of the trees, and the cool, comfortable beach winds blowing, helped the children relax for their interview. I discovered that I had forgotten the print out, and that running back to get it would take a lot of time, so I'll be more careful the next time I teach up there.

The 3rd grade science class wanted to observe butterflies, but there wasn't any, so they waited in front of the welfare centre for the time being.

A science teacher had just walked by. When they asked him where they could catch butterflies, he said that "If I was a butterfly, I would be eating lunch." So they decided to go look for a nearby garden.

They went to a nearby farm, and asked the owner for permission to catch butterflies on their property. An as the teacher said, they found butterflies coming to eat the crops, and they were able to catch one safely.

They had just watched the butterflies grow from eggs, and now they were able to carefully observe a full grown butterfly.
