【Report for June 22nd】 What is behind the obvious

Hello everyone.
Let's take a look at the activities the 9th grade students are doing today. The theme is "logo design". It seems difficult. A logo is a stylised image of a company or product. This applies to billboards you see around town, and the symbols of your favourite brands. Unlike conventional art that expresses oneself, in logo design you first have to know the person or company you are making it for. First, lets read the clients company details.
"Innovation", "Creative Recovery Base", "Industrial Competitiveness", and "Improvement of People's Lives"… This will be difficult…
Well, putting it simply, it seems like an organisation that uses various ideas and new technologies to solve problems and make people's lives better.
First of all, they drew intuitively. From the word "idea" they came up with the theme of a light bulb. So they drew a light bulb. However, as a logo, it feels like something is missing. Therefore, they thought about other corporate images as a whole, and expanded their ideas. 
"Make something new? A hand maybe?", "Maybe growing…leaves, or sprouts?" They just drew whatever came to mind.

If you were to colour these in, would they be in "warm" or "cold" colours? Is the logo a soft "curve" or a "straight line"? Who is the main target for viewing the logo? One after another, new questions comes up.

You do not have to complete the work during this time. The important thing is to keep your ideas flexible, chain the images, and create a lot of material for your work. Countless logos are seen every day. It was a full 50 minutes full of countless thoughts which were yet to be created.

At Yumenomori, we have "Auditing students". "Auditing students" in elementary school? It may be hard to understand. It's strange that an adult is studying in an elementary school classroom. To be honest, it was like that until I met her.
However, she is naturally familiar with the school and blends in well. Here she refrains from going into detail about her past, but she says she had a hard time when she was young. A few years ago, she wanted to "Learn the basics again", and found Yumenomori, a school where she resumed her studies. Ever since Yumenomori was in Aizu, she has been studying Japanese, Mathmatics, and Science together with elementary school students. The children also accept "Classmates of different generations". She is one of the irreplaceable Yumenomori members.
In fact she is a "student" of Yumenomori, and at the same time a "senior in life" for us designers. We are learning a lot from the humble and sincere way of life that never gives up learning no matter how old we are. "Teachers teach, students learn." "Adults teach, Children learn."
However, she is a "student" and a "teacher". "Adult" but also an "elementary school student". Don't get caught up in stereotypes and always remember to keep learning. I embody that kind of attitude. I would like Yumenomori to cherish such an attitude forever.
Everyday scenery. Everyday life. Time passing by. if you look closely, there are countless speculations, the wisdom of our predecessors, or someone's speculation hidden behind the "obvious". Sometimes it may be important to be careful and look at the obvious.
